Ιn a quest for British 'diamonds' hailing from different musical backgrounds, Sani Festival will be hosting the one and only appearance by the internationally acclaimed British composer, soul singer and actress Joss Stone on July, 29.
Friends of classical music will have the opportunity to enjoy a live performance by the world-renowned British virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope on August, 13. The artist will narrate to the public the story of the violin and its breakthrough during the Baroque period based on his award-winning work for the renowned Deutsche Grammophon. He will be accompanied by the AIR ensemble which consists of exceptional Baroque music soloists, including Simos Papanas, the multi award-winning musician and concertmaster of Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.
This year's “Jazz on the Hill” section will focus on virtuoso pianists. The 24th edition of the festival will open with the performance by Michael Wollny, a highly promising pianist from Germany. “Jazz on the Hill” will host again the charismatic pianist Yaron Herman (July, 9), who first appeared in Greece during Sani Festival 2009 as a rising star. The tribute to jazz pianists will end on July, 23 with the spotlight falling on the Japanese multi-faceted Hiromi.
The section entitled “Greek Variations” will feature the one-of-a-kind Dionysis Savvopoulos accompanied by Eleni Vitali on July, 16. Alkistis Protopsalti, one of the most beloved Greek singers, will also give a concert on August, 5.
